Some beautiful genius people have reworked the [allegedly] MPAA's replacement content on LokiTorrent.com and it's well worth a visit - shutdownthis.com. I hope they make some t-shirts with their logo on. The title of this site was chosen before I had any proper ideas for its content - it seemed like the most obvious choice of domain for a venue where I can directly disagree with the statements made by PiracyIsACrime.com and other copyright-industry-funded sites. This site's title (and hence domain name) is not intended to stand as a statement on its own. You should be exceedingly suspicious of anyone who wants to summarize this site's entire content and position by just quoting the title. There's a number of different aspects of their site for me to disagree with, which will take a while to do properly (Why copyright infringement != shoplifting, why downloading != counterfeit goods, and so much more). In the meantime, there is a huge range of greatness on World Of Stuart: a big forum thread of things, an investigation into "their" very samey press releases, a good article about content usage rights and lastly a history lesson explaining "why piracy is good". Also, funny things have happened to the opposition's propaganda at SomethingAwful. Although rather tangential to the main theme of this site, a company which produces network traffic analysis equipment (so ISPs can properly understand what kind of traffic their customers are producing) have done an interesting analysis of some RIAA myths about p2p. |
